Who are we?
VICTORIA Alumni Association, Dhaka, Bangladesh as per social responsibility we work as an education and training centre that offers training programs for professionals working in various sectors. We maintain the highest standards by emphasizing planning and design of each and every workshop, and working with trainers who understand the importance of interactive, participatory training techniques. We constantly evaluate ourselves to try and improve and apply best practices whenever possible.
Mission: To empower young people to reach their full potential outside school, working and learning in a stimulating environment in order to be productive, caring, disciplined and responsible citizens.
Vision: To provide training for skills, techniques and knowledge that each learner can directly and effectively apply practically, every day to improve the performance of our learners in their workplace, helping them to achieve their career goals and grow as professionals.
Objectives: To impart education & training to develop students at all levels, engaged in commercial, industrial and service organizations of private, public sectors and NGOs to develop innovative thinking & analytical skills to become professional leader. Make innovative changes and support sustainable development of the environment with regard to air, water and sound pollution and global climate change by capacity building and policy advocacy.
Leadership: the ability to influence and support others in a positive manner for a common goal.
Philosophy: the opportunity, right, and responsibility to contribute to shaping the world around oneself and provide service to others. Our philosophy is that in order for professional training, adult education and youth development programs to be effective, it must be hands-on, interactive and experiential. We recognize the importance of learners' engagement and involvement in activities for meaningful learning.
Personal Life Management: the skills needed to navigate in a changing world and to lead a healthy lifestyle, including discipline, communication skills and service.
Knowledge and Skills: the mastery of new skills, concepts and information related to areas of individual interest.

Quality: Our instructors have extensive subject knowledge, practical industry experience and excellent communication skills. They receive consistently high ratings from our participants and are observed and trained by our management personnel on an ongoing basis.
Strategy: The design of the training program can be undertaken only when a clear training objective has been produced. The training objective clears what goal has to be achieved by the end of training program i.e. what the trainees are expected to be able to do at the end of their training. Training objectives assist trainers to design the training program.

How does it work?
The training has two folds: content and process.
Content: The training covers the knowledge part through the content. It is flexible and responds to the needs of the time.
Process: We try to build capacity of our participants through the process of teaching and learning. We have activities like attend various seminars, workshop on relevant issues, group work and presentation and internship with various NGOs. Our concentration is on developing practical understanding by developing their interpersonal skills, making them proactive and honest, increase their self-direction, reflection abilities. Through the process they learn to make presentation, report, research topic, questionnaire, data processing tools, research report etc. The mechanism is fairly simple; a classroom is connected to a teacher via video conferencing technology and internet. The classes are operated with a teacher making the learning process communicative and interactive even with the virtual presence of its remote learners.
In order to provide quality training we are determined to keep the class size small. We would like invite those people to join who have finished their formal education (graduation/Masters). Besides, we would be interested in someone who has time, commitment, sincerity and flexibility. We advertise for the course in the newspaper and try to select participants on the basis of their interest and commitment to the training. We try to attend participants within our office time prior to enrollment where interested people can come and find out more about the course before they decide to join in. Finally, we assess the level of interest in students through interviews.
Media Language: All study materials are in English as well as Bangla, students may use either English or Bangla in their exams.
Courses System: Case study/ Assignment 10%; In course/ class test 20%; Mid term exam. 30%; Final Semester exam 30%. Attendence 10%. Total 100 Marks
Distance learning / External: Those who are extremely busy or unable to attend the classes or living out side of Dhaka may accept this distance learning facility. In the program we will provide all study materials, 25% marks for assignments and 75% marks for written exams. One Friday or other holidays will be examination days. Exam helds 3 months after, 4 times in a year.
Grading System- 90-100 A+ 4.00 Outstanding; 80-89 A 3.75 Excellent; 70-79 A- 3.50 Very Good ;60-69 B+ 3.25 Good; 50-59 B 3.00 Average; 40-49 C 2.50 Satisfactory
Admission and Fees: In order to make the course self-sustained in the end, we intend to charge a minimum fee of Tk. 6500. The target students will be university/college graduates, Young professionals.
Assessment and Cirtification: The course is accredited. During the training period the students will conduct a group research or a social survey on related development issues. Each student has to submit the research report and other report of her/his work at the end of 2½ months of training. . They will be evaluated on the basis of the report, class performance, and punctuality. On completion of the training they will receive a certificate and a recommendation letter from the institution where they will be placed for internship.
Moreover, through out the internship period the students have to record their experiences in a process diary. We will only consider they have successfully completed the internship program when they submit the diary to department at the end of the internship period.
Internship: After 2½ months of training the students will be discharged for internship, which will last for 1½ months. They will work as interns either in our projects or be placed with other NGOs, companies or the parliament house. During this time they will record their development or experiences in a process diary. Its’ a 2-day program with interactive knowledge-broadening workshops on the first day and the final project exhibition on the second day.

If you need to borrow a book and videos related to your course from the British Council Library or other places you could place a request in our library with the signature of your course tutor.
